A great reception detail that is often overlooked is the place for guests to leave cards. Think about it … the card drop is one of the first things your guests look for when they arrive at your reception. Do you go with a little basket or a ferocious yet adorable card-eating pinata?
We had no expectations going into the National Stationery Show so stumbling across PAPER florist aNeMone was beyond what we imagined. Ever. We’ve seen blinged out bouquets and felt flowers, but wowza….for paper lovers like ourselves, there’s nothing like seeing a paper flower bouquet.
Our first trip to the National Stationery Show last week blew our minds. Totally. 100% minds blown. There was so much gawking going on that we didn’t get any photos of the show, but we did pick up a lot of cool business cards and met some amazingly talented and sweet stationers. We can’t wait to exhibit! Maybe. Someday? To be decided. In the meantime, here were our favs from the show… {photos by Tracy Osborn at Wedding Type Blog}
We’ve mentioned Chewing the Cud’s fabric wraps before, but they were oh-so gorgeous in person. Viola was so sweet and her booth was full of goodness–her shop is too!

We’ve had some fun with Japanese washi tape ourselves lately (more to come on that!) so we were gobsmacked when we saw a washi tape wall in Sweet Bella’s booth. There are so many awesome patterns.

We fell in love with The Nic Studio. Such fun, clever illustrations. And how about that seriously sweet pendant lamp?

We love, love, loved this calendar by Fine Day Press. Ashley was super awesome and took a few minutes to chat with us even though we weren’t buyers. The zig-zagged yarn in her booth was gorgeous–great idea! {photo by Nole Garey from Oh So Beautiful Paper}
Mr Bodington’s Studio had a paper bike in their booth. It was amazing. We loved all of the white and popping colors too. {photo from Old Tom Foolery}
Our absolute favorite booth was by Twig + Fig. The booth was a work of art in itself, but our jaws dropped when we saw their seriously couture invites–from a leather zipper pouch to license plate save the dates to foil stamping on wood veneer.
We have a few more things to say about NSS so stay tuned. For more great coverage of the show head over to Oh So Beautiful Paper or Design*Sponge.
2011 is going to be a good year for stamps. Starting this year, all new first-class postage will be deemed “forever” postage! Once you buy a stamp you can use it FOREVER. So what’s out there in the way of wedding stamps? First up–the newest addition to the Wedding series–are these Wedding Roses. They’re simple enough so I like. Next, we have the Garden of Love set. I adore these for wedding invites! Heck, I love them so much they’ll probably be my all-around go-to stamp this year. I’m also sorta, kinda fond of these Edward Hopper sailboat stamps. They’d be perfect for a summer, beach or destination wedding.
You can check out the rest of the forever stamps coming this year right here.
It’s Monday, which means coffee is essential. I could go for one of these notebooks from Bold Ideas. I saw them awhile back and now Bold Ideas has set up shop so you too can buy your very own drink-inspired notebook.
The Museum of Arts and Design just announced the winners of the Moving Paper cut paper animation festival. These are some seriously cool videos made of cut up pieces of paper. Check out this one by The New Zealand Book Council.
